Authors: Carol Scottconner and Carol E. H. Scott-Conner
Average review score:

For surgical trainees
Good books on operative surgery are difficult to find. This book offers a much clearer understanding of operative general surgery. The detailed text is aided with helpful illustrations. It describes many of the pitfalls that surgeons encounter in day to day practice. The price may be off-putting but to the serious surgical trainee, they will see this book as an invaluable investment.

Chevrolet Camaro V8: Automotive Repair Manual, 1970 Thru 1981
Published in Paperback by Haynes Publishing (June, 1983)
Authors: Scott Mauck and John Harold Haynes
Average review score:

Excellent manual for Camaro owners/restorers
This is all a Camaro owner will ever need for simple to even somewhat advanced maintenance and repair instructions for their car. From engine overhaul to routine maintenance schedules and procedures to removal and installation of the engine and transmission, with many pictures and illustrations including several exploded views and complete wiring diagrams, this is an invaluable guide. This is best for someone who is handy with and has ready access to standard shop tools, and enjoys "do-it-yourself" work, although instructions are clear enough to accomodate almost anyone with the recommended equipment (a full list of which is included).

OUTSTANDING!!! A real parenting tool.
A friend told me about this book, and I gave it to two friends as babyshower gifts. My two friends have called me several times to thank me for this helpful gift that has helped them to understand and feel comfortable with their newborns. Further, they've commented that the book has actually helped them to look forward to the toddler years.

A Child's First Book About Play Therapy

Authors: Marc A. Nemiroff, Jane Annunziata, and Margaret Scott
Average review score:

A great way to engage and inform a child entering therapy
What better way to ease a child's mind and nerves than reading a story? This book makes an excellent tool for educating children about the therapy process, engaging their participation, and joining with the child on his or her level. I use it as a beginning intervention with all of my new clients...some of them request it again and again

A Childs History of Texas (Revised Edition)
Published in Hardcover by Eakin Press (October, 1999)
Authors: Sarah Jackson and Scott Arbuckle
Average review score:

An Outstanding Introduction to Texas History
This is an extremely well written introduction to Texas history, and one that your children will embrace from the "get-go" as they say in Texas. I must say that the most impressive feature of this book is the illustration. Scott Arbuckle has done unbelievable work here - the detail will allow your children to look at the book again and again with the same level of fascination as the first time they view it.

I highly recommend this book - it's a wonderful resource book for home schoolers as well.

China Bride: Rakehell Dynasty, Book Two
Published in Paperback by Warner Books (April, 1983)
Authors: Michael W. Scott and W. Michael
Average review score:

Read the whole series and couldn't put them down!
These are the best books I have ever read. The story takes you from Boston, London and to China. With a host of wonderful characters. It's a story of a family of ship builders and there adventures. It shows what China was was like when it was a closed country, which I found very interesting and amusing. MW Scott is a gifted author and I hope to read more of his works. Once you pick up the first of the Rakehell Dynasty Series you won't be able to put them down!

A Choice of Destinies
Published in Paperback by Pocket Books (June, 1986)
Author: Melissa Scott
Average review score:

Praise for Melissa Scott's "alternative history" theory
I can only speculate as to the past-life Melissa Scott might have enjoyed as a loyal soldier-officer in the Macedonian army of the Great Alexander, but in what is arguably her best short work, A Choice Of Destinies, the reader is certainly swept into the passion, place, and time of this remarkable man, as Ms. Scott unfolds an epic tapestry that presents Alexander and his generals with a choice they never had in Antiquity: an opportunity to embark upon the trans-Oxus campaign, or face the formidable power of the early Roman republic. An engaging read for lovers of classical studies as well as the science fiction/fantasy enthusiast, A Choice Of Destinies will fire the imaginations of all who've ever wondered what might have been if we had only chosen to zig, instead of zagging, on the slippery slope of Time.
